What you can build

  • Daily, 7-day, and 30-day active users, as a total and a per-day series.
  • Any saved PostHog insight: a trend, a funnel, retention, paths, stickiness, or lifecycle.
  • Feature flags by key, on or off, and rollout percentage.
  • Progress against a weekly active-user target.
  • A celebration on screen when daily actives cross a mark you care about.
  • A count of saved insights in the connected project, by type.

What you can pull from PostHog

Dance Party reads one PostHog project through PostHog's own API, read-only. Anything below can go on a screen. You never write a query.

Insights

API docs ↗
  • Saved insights
Name, short id, and type: TRENDS, FUNNELS, RETENTION, PATHS, STICKINESS, or LIFECYCLE.
  • Insight results
The computed result of a saved insight, refreshed from PostHog when the screen updates.

Active users

API docs ↗
  • Active users total
A 1, 7, or 30 day unique-user total. The adapter writes the HogQL. You never paste a query.
  • Active users by day
The per-day series for that same 1, 7, or 30 day window.

Feature flags

API docs ↗
  • Flag key and state
Each flag's key and whether it is active.
  • Rollout percentage
The percentage of users the flag is rolled out to.

Assign the dashboard to a screen. It goes live on the display.

Read-only, always. You paste a personal API key scoped to insight:read, query:read, feature_flag:read, and project:read. Dance Party stores it encrypted and only reads saved insights, active-user counts, and feature flags. It never captures events, edits insights, or changes flags. Revoke the key in PostHog at any time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I show a PostHog dashboard on a TV?

Yes. Connect PostHog, describe the dashboard, and your AI builds it. It runs on an Apple TV, a native tvOS app, on any office display. Always on, and it refreshes on its own.

Is the PostHog connection read-only?

Yes. You paste a personal API key with read scopes only. Dance Party stores it encrypted and only reads saved insights, active-user counts, and feature flags. It never captures events, edits insights, or flips flags.

Which PostHog data can it display?

Daily, 7-day, and 30-day active users, any saved insight (trend, funnel, retention, paths, stickiness, lifecycle), and feature flags with rollout percentage. One project per connection.

Can I use a project API key (phc_)?

No. Project keys are for event capture. Dance Party needs a personal API key that starts with phx_, plus the numeric project ID from Project settings.

Do I need to build the dashboard myself?

No. There is no HogQL to write and no insight editor to learn. You connect PostHog, describe what you want, and your AI builds the dashboard and deploys it to a screen.
