Dance Party reads Excel through Microsoft Graph with the signed-in person's read permission. It finds workbooks in their OneDrive and reads the ranges and tables you name. It never edits a cell.

How to connect Microsoft Excel
Before you start
- An owner or admin of your Dance Party workspace makes the Microsoft Excel connection.
- A Microsoft account, personal or work or school, whose OneDrive holds the workbooks
- Workbooks saved as .xlsx. In some company tenants, an IT admin has to approve the app before anyone can consent.
- 1Under Integrations in Dance Party, click Connect Microsoft Excel on the Excel card.
- 2Sign in and pick the Microsoft account whose OneDrive has the workbooks. Microsoft shows the publisher as unverified.
- 3Review the permissions: sign you in and read your profile, read your files, and keep access to data you have given it access to. Click Accept.
- 4Microsoft hands you back to Dance Party, and the Excel card now says Connected.
- 5Ask DJ Agent for a workbook by name and the range or table to show.
One Microsoft Excel connection per workspace
A workspace connects one Microsoft account, and every Excel widget reads from that account's OneDrive. If the flash report and the close checklist live in two people's OneDrives, put them in the one that is connected.
Read-only. Files.Read lets Dance Party read files in the connected OneDrive, and it only opens the workbooks you ask for. It cannot write, move, share or delete a file. Revoke it from the app permissions page of your Microsoft account, or click Disconnect on the card.

Microsoft Excel dashboard questions
Can I show an Excel spreadsheet on a TV in the office?
Yes. Connect Microsoft Excel, name the workbook and the range or table, and DJ Agent turns it into a widget for any screen with the Dance Party Apple TV app.
Where do my Excel files need to be?
In the connected person's OneDrive, saved as .xlsx. Dance Party searches that OneDrive for workbooks. Files kept only on a laptop, or in a SharePoint or Teams library, are not found.
Should I use an Excel table or a cell range?
A table for lists that grow, like a close checklist, because new rows are picked up without changing the widget, up to 100 rows per read. A range suits a fixed summary block.
Does the dashboard update when the workbook changes?
Yes, on its next refresh. Excel widgets refresh hourly by default, and you can set one as often as every 5 minutes.
Why does Microsoft say the app is unverified?
Dance Party's Microsoft app is not publisher-verified yet. Personal accounts can still consent, but some company tenants block unverified apps until an admin approves them.
Can Dance Party edit my workbook?
No. It asks Microsoft only for read access to files. It cannot write cells, add sheets, or rename, move or delete a workbook.
