Frequently asked questions

Is the AWS S3 connection read-only?

Yes. Dance Party only uses read-only S3 actions and CloudWatch metrics; it has no write permissions.

What IAM permissions are required?

We recommend an IAM policy with s3:ListAllMyBuckets, s3:ListBucket, and cloudwatch:GetMetricData permissions.

Does Dance Party download my files?

No. Dance Party only reads file names, sizes, and metadata. It never reads or exposes the actual file content.

Can it track S3 Glacier storage?

Yes. Storage sizes can be queried and grouped by storage class including Standard, Intelligent-Tiering, and Glacier.
